Points of Interest

Lovelock Indian Cave

Visit the Lovelock Cave Kiosk in front of the Marzen House Museum to get information and a map with to the cave. You do not need a 4x4 vehicle to access the cave, however, low profile vehicles are not recommended for the trip.

Chocolate Butte

Chocolate Butte–a basalt rock formation. Take I-80 to Coal Canyon exit. Head east on Coal Canyon Stillwater Road (Hwy 396) till you get to Muttleberry Road, make a right. You will see the rock formation out in the middle of the valley.

Seven Troughs Mining District

Located about 25 miles Northwest of Lovelock.

Thunder Mountain Monument

A historic site in Imlay, take I-80 exit 145, turn east, then turn left onto Star Peak Rd. Drive straight as the road turns to gravel and Thunder Mountain is ahead on the left. This site is visible from the interstate.
