Appraiser I/II
Pershing County Assessor's Office

The Pershing County Assessor’s Office is accepting applications for a full time Appraiser I/II position. Although this is an entry level position, all levels of experience may apply.

Applicants must be able to perform a broad range of clerical duties and have knowledge of general office equipment. Computer knowledge is required and experience in Microsoft Word and Excel desired. Efficient in advanced math a must. Applicants should be able to organize and maintain accurate files and records; provide factual information both in person and on the telephone; accurately type at a rate sufficient to perform assigned duties; and have knowledge of office practices and procedures and correct English usage including spelling and grammar. This position will require the applicant to perform outdoor duties at times in varying climates as well as other duties as assigned. The ability to deal with the public is vital. Mechanic I
Pershing County Road Department

The Pershing County Road Department is accepting applications for a Road Mechanic I. Duties include maintaining and repairing a broad range of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment both in the shop and in the field. Cook I/II and Relief Cook
Pershing County Senior Center

The Pershing County Senior Center is seeking applicants to fill the position of Cook. The position for Cook is a full-time position, eight hours, five days a week with benefits. The position for Relief Cook is an “as needed” position. These positions perform a variety of duties such as preparation and cooking of meals for the center and homebound deliveries. Applicant must have the skills and knowledge of food preparation methods and procedures, health and sanitation regulations, cleaning of equipment, operating various types of powered kitchen equipment and must be able to read, write and follow recipes. These positions will require a positive attitude, ability to follow directions, good judgment, initiative, maturity, observation and communication skills and sensitivity to the needs of others. Applicant must have a valid Nevada State driver’s license, pass a background check and the ability to acquire a Serv Safe Certificate. Some Office computer skills required. Dispatcher
Pershing County Sheriff's Office

The Pershing County Sheriff's Office is now accepting applications for the position of a full-time dispatcher. Applications may be obtained below, or at the Pershing County Sheriff's Office, located at 395 9th St. Lovelock, Nevada

The position will remain open until filled.

Requirements for this position include but are not limited to: Being able to deal with the public and have good communication skills. Other requirements consist of typing, answering phones, computer and clerical skills and ability to work under pressure while multitasking. Must obtain a certificate for NCIC. Must be able to work weekends, holidays, day and night shifts. The applicant must be at least 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Applicant must be able to pass a background investigation due to the sensitivity of the position.


WIC Clerk
Pershing County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Clinic

The Pershing County WIC Clinic is accepting applications for a part-time (20 hours per week) Clerk position. Under the direction of the WIC Director, the Clerk performs administrative tasks and program applicant screening; assists applicants and participants with scheduling and access to program benefits; provides instructions, distributes, and follows policy and procedure for disbursement of food programs benefits; and performs record-keeping, reporting, and clinic safety and cleaning duties.

The WIC office is seeking a candidate with at least some office experience and who enjoys working with families and children. Basic computer data entry and/or word processing skills are beneficial. The position is based in Lovelock, but may require travel between Battle Mountain, Fallon, and Winnemucca clinics.

WIC Director
Pershing County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Clinic

The Pershing County WIC Clinic is accepting applications for a full-time (40 hours per week) Director position. Under the direction of the Pershing County Board of Commissioners, the WIC Director leads, manages, directs, and coordinates operations of the WIC Program. The WIC Director maintains a collaborative working relationship between all government entities involved in the program. The WIC Director is also responsible for coordinating with State of Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health, and United States Department of Agriculture to ensure compliance with standards and requirements.

The WIC Clinic is seeking a candidate with at least two years of college with some exposure to Business or Public Management theories and practices or a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training; as well as an understanding of computers including Microsoft Office software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint; and experience in grant writing and grant administration. The position is based in Lovelock, but may require travel between Battle Mountain, Fallon, and Winnemucca clinics.
